The Bunkhouse Note. B4547 IS NOW A4244
Has 3 dormitories, for 9, 9, and 6. Entrance hall for outdoor gear and boots. Common room, with log-effect fire, dining room. Kitchen with gas rings and gas and electric ovens, toaster, kettle, fridge and a shower. Drying room and spin dryer, as well as a clothes line and a hedge (thats a bit of low-tech pragmatism). But a house full of soaked people can't expect to be dried overnight so come prepared with extra togs. Try to bring indoor shoes.
The Chalet and The Flat - Le Flachalet
Together these make a smaller Bunkhouse for up to 14.
The Chalet sleeps 9, in sections of 6 and 3, with a washroom and toilet. The 3 section has in it the shower for the whole 9 unit.
The Flat This has a bedroom for 3, a doubles and a single, with its own washroom toilet & instat shower. There are pads and pillows for two more on the carpet.
The Chalet and The Flat share a kitchen/diner on the ground floor, with seating and all equipment to feed 14. Gas cooker with oven, microwave, fridge, toaster, hot water sink. It's a sitting area, too, with a TV and storage heater.
Drying facilities similar to the main bunkhouse - but again, come prepared, with spare gear and a large poly bag. Please bring indoor shoes.
Castell y Gwynt
Castle of the winds - is an upmarket bunkhouse "gear and boots-off" for seven for the weekend, but this is as flexible as the cost. Just off the private entrance is a single bunk room, and a bedroom with 4 singles and shower ensuite. This room has a storage heater. Upstairs is the living room kitchen with a double bed setee, with open outlooks, east to the hills and west to the sea. There's a gas hob, toaster, microwave, kettle and fridge, and all kitchen equipment. There's an electric heater, reasonable use included. Indoor footware essential. We do our best to dry your wet gear...but sweet reason must orevail.
The Alpine Lodge
This is my best accommodation, a superb south-facing apartment, bright and warm, with old white stone and rich golden pine. It was intended for my retirement, so it's ideal for two (and perhaps four for a short stay). It has gas cooking, and a gas log-effect fire, but otherwise is all-electric. The room storage heaters and gas is included, but excessive energy use will be charged for at cost.
The warm and cosy living room/kitchen has the "log" fire,TV, books and radio. The kitchen has a gas hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, and everything for four to dine. The bedroom has a double bed, shelves and hanging space, with heating as required. There are bed-settee spaces for extras. The bathroom has both bath and instant shower.
Guests must wear indoor footwear and bring their own towels and sleeping bags. If sheets and duvets are required for the double please tell us. As the plan shows, it could be linked in with Castell Gwynt, to make a compact, self-contained place for up to 14 for a weekend.
No pets are allowed and smoking is not permitted indoors (or in the doorways - the smell can blow in!) Group organisers should tell everybody of this. There are seats in the garden....but you might need a brolly!
